  The FM Hornets (3-6) jumped out to an early 13-0 lead and then cruised home to beat the RFA Black Knights 29-7 in a Class AA crossover game. The Knights scored in the second quarter to cut the lead to 13-7 but could get no closer the rest of the way. RFA finishes the season at (3-6) as does FM.

Kyle Kimball ended his RFA career scoring his team's only toucdown in the second quarter. Mike Lee, yes that Mike Lee SU hoops fans, had a big night scoring three times for the Hornets. All three scores where TD receptions his longest a 50 yard hookup from QB Mike O'Neil.

Earlier update:

The RFA Black Knights (3-5) are back at it again on Wednesday night as they head to Fayetteville to tangle with the Hornets in a Class AA crossover contest. FM is (2-6) and wants to show some Pride at home as they close out the season.

RFA would love to make it two in a row to close the books on the 2009 season and head out of town coming off a big win last Friday night at the stadium against West Genesee in a game you heard right here online at MHTS. Join Vinny Spadafora and John Theall for all the action.

RFA 36 West Genesee 22-Scoring Summary:

 In a game you heard right here online the Rome Free Academy Black Knights got back in the wn column with an impressive home win over the West Genesee Wildcats, 36-22. The RFA ground game was cranked up on a windy night at the Stadium in Rome.

With rushing leader Kyle Kimball scoring three touchdowns and rushing 23 times for 135 yards, host RFA (3-5) won the Class AA crossover game.  The senior Kimball tallied on runs of 1, 24 and 54 yards as the Black Knights pulled away from the Wildcats (1-7). For West Genny, running back Sean Howard had 25 carries for 137 yards and two TDs.

The Romans trailed early 8-6 but then regained the lead 12-6 and never looked back. Rome's defensive gave the offensive unit good field position to help regain moementum.

Baldwinsville 41 RFA 21-Game summary:

 Another tough night for the RFA Black Knights who were eliminated from post season contention as they fell 41-21 to the state's # 6 ranked team the Baldwinsville Bees. The game was heard right here online as part of our Stream Team Coverage.
 
Malik Burks ran for 286 yards and four first-half touchdowns to blow this one open as unbeaten and state-ranked Baldwinsville beat Rome Free Academy in their Section III Class AA-1 regular-season finale.
 
With the win, Baldwinsville (5-0, 7-0) wins the league title. For RFA Kyle Kimball ran for 85 yards and a score, and Dante Mezza finished with 82 yards and a touchdown for the Black Knights (1-4, 2-5), who will miss the playoffs for the first time since they began in 1979.

CNS 27 RFA 0-Game Summary:

Tough loss for the RFA Black Knights on a wet night in Cicero as the North Stars lead all the way to cruise to a big 27-0 win over the visitors from Rome. The loss drops RFA to (2-4) and leaves the Knights still searching for a post-season bid.

 At (3-3) CNS keeps their playoff hopes alive heading into the final week of the season.

CNS jumped out to a 7-0 lead early in quarter one when Blake Monday ran one in from 8 yards out. The home team made it 14-0 in the second quarter when QB Ryan Lacey plunged in from 1 yard out.

The Stars broke it open later in the same quarter as Tom Padula scored on a 15 yard run. Padula wrapped up the scoring with a 1 yard run in the third as the Northstars wrapped this one up.

RFA looks to return to the win column as the host the state ranked Baldwinsville Bees at the stadium in Rome next Friday night. We'll have all the action for you right here onine.

CBA 40 RFA 36-Game Summary:

COULDN'T MAKE IT TO THE STADIUM-LISTEN TO THE GAME NOW!



In a back-and-forth Class AA-1 battle of Titans, CBA (1-2, 3-2) snapped a two-game losing streak by scoring the games final touchdown for the win.Trailing  the visiting Rome Free Academy Black Knights 36-33 with five minutes remaining, quarterback Tyler Hamblin connected with wideout Jared DePalma on a 70-yard pass to the RFA 2-yard line.

 From there, Fajri Jackson, who finished the game with 17 carries for 105 yards,scored the winning touchdown, which came with about four minutes to play on a rainy night at CBA. RFA (1-2, 2-3) fumbled at the CBA 40-yard line with two minutes left on its final possession. The loss will leave the Romans with an uphill battle for a post season bid.

Rome Free Academy led 21-7 in the third quarter and once again, 36-33, with less than five minutes remaining, but Christian Brothers Academy’s Fajri Jackson ran for his second touchdown with 4:46 left to play and the Brothers (1-2, 3-2) held on for the Class AA-1 win.

Kyle Kimball rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns for the Black Knights and Jordan Henry had 78 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries for Rome now (1-2, 2-3). Anthony DeJean scored on a 61-yard run and Dante Mezza also had a touchdown run for RFA.

Big night for the Knights in a game you heard right here online at MHTS. The Homecoming ceremony at the stadium was a big success and the night was made even more enjoyable by the play of the RFA Black Knights.

The big 38-7 win evens Rome's record at 2-2.

Rome Free Academy’s Dante Mezza was 13 of 14 in the air throwing for 215 yards and three touchdowns in the Black Knights’ Class AA-1 Homecoming Night win over  the Central Square Red Hawks at RFA Stadium.


















RFA junior wideout Josh Royce had touchdown catches of 45 and 62 yards as the speedster made his two catches count. Mezza also threw a 33-yard bomb to Anthony DeJean, who continues to shine, in the third quarter.

Nathanael Williams and Kevin Torchia each had six tackles for RFA (1-1, 2-2) and Tom Secor had five as the linebacking core continues to lead the Rome defense.


The home team also unveiled new uniforms on a big night at the stadium.
