MHTS stopped by this afternoon to get a view through the lens of photographer Jeff Pexton. Jeff got a chance to shoot the opening of today's Center States Conference West match between the host New York Mills Marauders and league rival Canastota. The Raiders left Twin Ponds with a thrilling one stroke win to improve to 6-1 in the CSC West standings.

CANASTOTA 172 NEW YORK MILLS 173
The Raiders (6-1-7-1) had a happy bus ride home after holding on for a one shot win 172 to 173. Coach Dylan Gifford and his red hot Raiders are just one back in the West standings trailing undefeated Hamilton (6-0).
Canastota was led by medalist Ian Campbell, a freshman, who plays beyond his years. Campbell fired a 9 hole total of 38 to lead his team to the road win.

Canastota's one loss this season came at the hands of the Emerald Knights on Monday. The Raiders had reeled off 6 straight to start the campaign and got right back on course today.
Canastota continues a busy week of action today at home at Kanyon Valley Golf Club.
Coach Anthony Ricco's Marauders were looking to take a step up the standings ladder with a home win, but left the clubhouse wondering how they could have made up the one stroke that cost them the match.
New York Mills entered today's contest with some momentum having won two straight over Waterville and Poland.
Today the Marauders were paced by senior Matt Dziekan who matched Canastota's Campbell with a 38 of his own to medal. The senior has had a solid season for the Mills.
Today's loss drops New York Mills to (1-5) in league play and (2-5) overall.

The Marauders will be right back at it when they tee off against the rival Oriskany Redskins at Twin Ponds this afternoon at 3:30PM.
